Editorial
This issue discusses those who hold others up, and whom we often forget to support. Caregivers lack respite, and local agents are exhausted as they are on the front line of our actions. Mothers, for their part, pay for their maternity in income and health. Perinatality, child protection, and sextortion remind us that the early stages of life are also the most fragile. Climate and the principle of 'One Health' broaden the perspective: our health also depends on our environment and our collective choices. In response, simple solutions exist: a peer call, support accessible to all, a shared culture of safety in care.

HEALTH PROMOTION
Cultivating mental well-being (PiLeJe Foundation)
An illustrated booklet that breaks the day into 8 steps, with short exercises (breathing, 3-3-3, heart coherence) easy to resume in workshops. A good resource to introduce the topic to an unfamiliar audience, to be used with a critical eye (poorly sourced figures, very individual approach). https://www.pratiquesensante.com/en/blog/practices-15/cultiver-le-bien-etre-mental-6223
Peer telephone monitoring to promote the well-being of university students (The Next Review, September 2026)
In Sherbrooke, since 2017, more advanced students call new ones for about thirty minutes in the first term. The article gives the opinions of those called and the callers, describes the system in detail and outlines its limitations: a simple preventive action to implement. https://www.pratiquesensante.com/en/blog/practices-15/la-veille-telephonique-par-les-pairs-pour-favoriser-le-bien-etre-des-personnes-etudiantes-universitaires-6232
SOCIETAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES
The 2026 Europe report of the Lancet Countdown on health and climate change
43 indicators show who is most exposed in Europe to heat, vector mosquitoes, pollen and food insecurity. A solid basis for targeting vulnerable groups, preparing a heatwave plan and arguing with elected officials and funders. https://www.pratiquesensante.com/en/blog/practices-15/climat-et-sante-pourquoi-le-lien-disparait-du-debat-public-alors-que-les-risques-augmentent-6227
From sticky floors to mother’s ceiling. What levers to end maternal penalty? (HCE)
The arrival of children explains most of the income gap between women and men. The report makes 46 recommendations, from EVARS to postpartum. It helps identify the moments when everything changes (birth, return to work, separation) and the rights that can be mobilised at each of these moments. https://www.pratiquesensante.com/en/blog/practices-15/rapport-du-plancher-collant-au-plafond-de-mere-6228
PUBLIC POLICIES
Proposed law aiming to legally recognise the principle of "One Health" (Senate, July 2026)
The text proposes to enshrine the One Health principle in four codes: environment, public health, local authorities and urban planning. It is still at the stage of submission, but it already provides a useful argument for CLS and health-environment projects. https://www.pratiquesensante.com/en/blog/practices-15/proposition-de-loi-visant-a-reconnaitre-en-droit-le-principe-une-seule-sante-6225
For a perinatal policy that meets the challenges (ministerial report, September 2026)
The report links the rise in neonatal mortality to flaws in the pathway: prevention, postpartum, precariousness. It presents actions already tested (outreach in PMI, prevention of shaken baby syndrome, mother-child PASS) that can inspire local projects. https://www.pratiquesensante.com/en/blog/practices-15/for-a-perinatal-policy-that-meets-the-challenges-change-the-framework-change-the-model-for-women-newborns-and-their-families-6230
POPULATION HEALTH
Barometer of mental health at work for agents of the territorial public service – Edition 2026 (Moodwork, idealCO, MNFCT)
45% of local authority staff report feeling exhausted each week, 39% have already given up on mental health care and only 15% feel supported. Recent figures to prepare a diagnosis or a mental health project at work, including for one's own team. https://www.pratiquesensante.com/en/blog/practices-15/barometer-of-mental-health-at-work-for-public-service-agents-edition-2026-6224
THEMATIC APPROACHES
Fighting against sextortion: launch of the awareness campaign (with CIIVISE)
A national campaign on TikTok and Snapchat helps 11-17 year olds to spot blackmail, not to feel guilty and not to stay alone. It includes a definition, methods of operation, good reflexes, offences and the role of 3018: guidelines for discussing it with young people. https://www.pratiquesensante.com/en/blog/practices-15/fight-against-sextortion-launch-of-the-awareness-campaign-6235
Digital accessibility in the service of learning quality (UCLouvain)
The guide proposes five principles and concrete actions to make texts, videos, images and online platforms accessible. It was written for higher education, but it can be adapted for prevention and training materials. https://www.pratiquesensante.com/en/blog/practices-15/digital-accessibility-in-the-service-of-the-quality-of-learning-6236
MEDICAL AND SOCIAL ESTABLISHMENTS AND SERVICES
One in three daily caregivers expresses a need for respite, unmet for half of them (Drees, September 2026)
36% of caregivers say they need respite, and nearly half do not have enough, especially those who help the most. Respite care and temporary accommodation remain very underused, even when they are known. Therefore, the way to present the offer to families needs to be reviewed. https://www.pratiquesensante.com/en/blog/practices-15/un-aidant-a-la-vie-quotidienne-sur-trois-exprime-un-besoin-de-repit-non-satisfait-pour-la-moitie-d-entre-eux-6226
Guidelines for transforming the offer in child protection (Igas)
The report helps departments to develop responses in family settings, without abandoning the establishments that remain useful. It relies on concrete examples (Gironde, Var, Pas-de-Calais…) and clearly presents the legal framework for each response. https://www.pratiquesensante.com/en/blog/practices-15/reperes-pour-la-transformation-de-l-offre-en-protection-de-l-enfance-6234
ACCESS AND QUALITY OF CARE
Improving the safety of patients and residents: the national roadmap 2026-2028 (DGOS)
This roadmap sets 3 objectives, 5 axes and 26 actions to develop a shared safety culture. It separates the tools that already exist from those that are announced, and specifies the actions planned in nursing homes, in the community and with patients and their families. https://www.pratiquesensante.com/en/blog/practices-15/improving-patient-and-resident-safety-the-national-roadmap-2026-2028-6231
